Fichtner is a global engineering consultancy founded in 1922, employing over 2,000 people across 170 countries. In Ireland and the UK, our engineers and consultants contribute to some of the most innovative energy projects, offering design, intellectual, and engineering services to developers, investors, owners, and operators. - 60 major thermal power plants, across the waste, biomass, and conventional power sectors
- 10 GWh of battery storage
- 5 GW of solar
- 7 GW of on-shore and off-shore wind
- 5 GWh of pumped storage hydro projects
- 20 carbon capture projects, aiming to capture and permanently sequestrate more than 5 million tonnes of CO2 per annum
We take pride in our team of over 175 employees, who represent us from offices in Manchester, Belfast, Dublin, and Glasgow, as well as from various sites across the UK and Ireland. We are now seeking to expand our team by recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to be based in our Dublin office.
What we are looking for:
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of thermal power generation or waste reduction technologies
- Rotating machinery knowledge; plant selection experience
- Good experience gained within a technical consultancy, industrial facility or process equipment manufacturer
- Computer literate individual with Microsoft Office and MS Project
- Prior undertaking of feasibility studies and design reviews
- Good understanding of health and safety
- A member of, or working towards, Engineers Ireland
- The ability to read and interpret quality and manufacturing documentation and P&ID’s
- Comfortable chairing client/contractor/internal meetings and initiating site and plant inspections
